Our Church put in a Yamaha LS9 console earlier this year and is running aviom monitors through slot 1. There has been talk of adding an ADAT card to slot 2 to give us the ability to multi-track worship sets. The issue I see with this is the LS9 only gives 1 option for direct out. Does anyone know a workaround for this? Thanks

You know that you only have 16 channels with the ADAT card, right? So you won't be able to send all 32 channels to the multitrack. This means you'll probably want to pre-mix some things like drums, BGV's, etc. In which case, route your mix sends through the ADAT card. Any one input you're sending to one multitrack channel just send a unity mix signal out the appropriate ADAT channel.

Yes I am aware of only having 16 lightpipe outs with the extra card. All of our mix sends are already being used for monitor sub-mixes, monitor sends, groups and effects, so that isn't an option for us. I'm beginning to think the best idea is to just buy a snake split and some preamp/coverters.

I agree; your best idea is to buy a splitter and some mic preamp/coverters, or... a larger desk that can handle all your mixing needs.

Yeah, sorry. Unless there is some sort of DA for the Aviom system to get it back in the analog domain you are stuck with having to decide between the two.
