for orchestras? Based on sound quality alone.

I don't own any of these, but they are all different machines with different specs (Nagra only has 4 mic inputs, 788t has 8, MH is an interface for a laptop not a stand-alone recorder).

Personally I'd like a 788t because of the 8 inputs - no need for external pres. The Nagra, you'd need a pair of pres and then you still only have 6 inputs.

Metric Halo is Mac only if that makes a difference. I still don't prefer computer interfaces over stand-alone recorders.

So, get what suits your needs. They all seem like top-of-the-line gear.
