Question Portable digital rig

Motu 869 x2/Behringer ada 8000/ macbook pro 4gig mem/external hd 7200rpm.

Or allen and heath zed r16/ macbook pro 4gig/ external hd 7200rpm

Have been advised to go for the motu set up for quality and ease of set up?

Havent decided on which sequencer to use yet.

Any comments welcomed.

If you go the 896 way, go with DP as it is really integrated with Mac and their hardware.

You can bypass the "cuemix" with DP and still get near-zero latency monitoring.

Also, if you go the computer way for mobile work, go with a back-up system to make sure you deliver the goods.

My clients don't want to pay for the back-up system.............but i always make sure i have one so i deliver and get paid for sure. I sleep better that way.

MOTU on Mac is very stable but the costumer's service sucks big time. As long as you know what you're doing, you'll be fine with MOTU.
