Talking Brazillian 70s Funky Live Rec

A few weeks ago i've recorded a live show for the first time.

The room was terrible.
The Mics were basic (4 sm8, 1 sm57, 1 pg52, 1 pg81).
The musicians are awesome
We took the audience mix secondary stereo out to a Motu 828.
The pres and mixer were from a Mackie VLZ.
No outboard during recording.
This mp3 is the exact stereo out with some eq, a little reverb, hiss removal (VLZ here) and compression.

I loved the result. Hope you like:

just to add that i forgot.

The file is name Teste.mp3 because i cannot mention the band name to preserve their rights, for it is not an official live recording. They let me record and post on internet to friends, but without mentioning their name.

Considering the setup -- great work!

Cheers.

Will you be remixing these tracks?
They sound good, but (IMHO) they need to be balanced, so they sit better in the mix.

They need to be balanced indeed. That was a live demo (so i could get a job late :-D). Impossible to remix. We took the stereo out of the audience mix and feed it into two channels of a motu 828. Most times what is good for the audience is not good for studio... We cant remix, we only have the stereo master. the only studio work i've done there was 'mastering'.
