Talking Boom Recorder development abandoned

Boom Recorder appears to be dead and buried. Rather sad. (if you don't know Boom Recorder, it was a dedicated live audio recording application for the Mac).

Apparently, it's not working with Snow Leopard, and development has ceased, so it's been removed from the store - you can no longer purchase it.

That's a real shame, although not too huge a surprise since it feels like there hadn't been a new version in years. But it was a clever app with some very clever features, and with a little more development I felt it could have been the perfect live tracking software.

Come on Presonus, help us out here. We need that proper hardware-independent multitrack version of this:

I agree that this application deserves better. Apparently the Snow Leopard incompatibility is mostly about the logging feature, which doesn't sound like a very complicated fix. Let's hope that Take finds the time to solve the problems.

They're just not selling copies until the new version is ready. It hasn't been discontinued or abandoned or anything.

Thanks for the clarification. Although the wording on the VosGames store website simply says:

"The store is currently closed. Boom Recorder will not be sold anymore, due to other projects."

...so you can understand why I assumed it was dead and buried.

I'd love to see BoomRecorder return - ideally with the addition of a simple built-in monitoring mixer (just level, pan, mute and solo... and maybe some grouping/bussing so you can mute/solo/level-adjust groups of instruments).

At its core, BoomRecorder was a great little app.
