Question (mobile) D/A for driving active monitors

Hello all,

what would be your choice for d/a conversion, driving active monitors directly. (So analogue output level adjustment would be called for...)???

Apogee MiniDAC (love the USB connection)
Benchmark (love the integrated PSU & ruggedness)
???

Thanks for your input

o.k. I know we are all tired of D/A conversion threads....
but perhaps anyone has some experience with the apogee usb driver (on WIN XP PC) - because it seems the USB feature would be my only reason to prefer it over the benchmark. So obviously if the Apogee ASIO driver is not totally working I would buy the benchmark...

Thanks for your input.

I just feel like Apogee is the best in the business, rather than the current "in" converter, whatever that may be. I've never had anything but superb results when their stuff is in the chain.
