Exclamation Alesis HD24 Fireport (Power???)

I need help...

I have 3 hours of audio on an HD24 and can't get it off.

My plan was to use the fireport a friend gave me, but the power supply is MIA. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get the ethernet connection working.

I figure easiest thing to do would be buy a new power supply. Problem is, I can't find the 6 pin supply anywhere (Locally)

For those that own one...
Is this what I need?
6Pin 12v+ 5v AC Power Supply Adapter For Hard Disk Case - eBay (item 230375946474 end time Nov-08-09 02:11:24 PST)

Any Idea where I may find one locally???

Thanks in advance.

The Ethernet feature on the HD24 is super easy to use, I use Cyberduck in my mac and AceFtp in my pc and it works like a charm.
You should give it another try, just follow the instructions in the user manual.

That's all the help I can give you...

Noooooooo !

Stop right there.

The voltage and current rating is correct.. but the 12Volt + ground pins are reversed. What you need is this:

Thanks for the heads up on the PSU... That would have been bad.

I actually just got the FTP up and running via AceFTP (Thanks Matskull)

I'll still be picking up the PS.

Thanks again everyone!

The ethernet connection will go slower than anything alive, try popping the drive out of its caddy and throwing it in an external drive enclosure or buying a drive bay from a company called ViPowER. (I believe its drive bay model "VP-1028LSF"). This way you can just pop your caddy out of the hd24, and into your computer tower and use HD24Tools to get the information out at 100MB/s. The Wikipedia on the HD24 is very helpful for any other snags you might encounter.

You're welcome, the ethernet option seems to be picky about which ftp software we use...

The Mac ftp program Transmit will also work with the HD24.

I have heard about FTP sessions dropping out, so be warned. Not sure if you can resume the file transfers either.
