Question Importing a Remote Truck to the US; is it possible?

Hi!

I want to ask if anyone knows, if it is possible to import a Mexican Chevrolet 3 ton truck permanently to US.
Actually, I want to know, because I am planning to offer this truck for sale in US if possible, or find a partner to work with it. The truck was made by General Motors of Mexico, and the truck is located at Monterrey Mexico.

The unit is basically like new, has less than 10k miles and everything is in excellent shape.

Here are few photos

I will thank you any comments.

Alex,

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it; well almost anything that is.

As long as your Mexican Chevrolet 3 ton truck complies with USA DOT specs you're okay.
You may have to do some minor changes to the DOT markings on the body and cab; perhaps a few other things...

I would check with Chevy, US DOT and the department of transportation in Mexico for more information on your concerns.

Here in the States we can call 311 and pretty much ask any question possible.
The trick is to ask the right type of questions because the folks answering the 311 phone lines are not rocket scientists; they just play (rocket) scientists on TV.

Good luck.

I hope this helped.

I think you'll also have EPA standards to think about.

is it possible? perhaps. is it in any way practical? no. importing a chevy van from Mexico is no different than importing some exotic Italian sports car. unfortunately all the processes for legally modifying an import are on the price scale of one off exotics.

the only exception to this is if the car is 25 years old. then you can bring anything in. I imported two land rovers that way.
