Question USB Interface for Mac (4 inputs)

I've done a search and havn't really turned up a lot of info on USB interfaces. I have a non-Pro Macbook (i.e. no Firewire). I want to use that computer for remote recordings. I could probably get by with 2 channels, in which case an M-Box would probably be perfect (I currently use Cubase for my main recording computer, but don't really care what software is running on the remote computer as I won't be doing heavy editing or mixing on it). Ideally, I'd like 4 inputs for a bit more flexibility though. Built-in mic pre's would be very convenient, but not an absolute necessity.

Any suggestions?

You can consider the Lexicon U42s (4 dbx preamps, 2 headphone outs, USB2). It iis very stable on my thinkpad, but it does support the mac with the following specs:
MacĀ® OS X 10.4.9 or higher
IntelĀ® Multicore system (Required)

the preamps are quite good for a moderately priced interface.

I hadn't heard of that, but it seems like it might be exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion.
