who are some of the top live engineers that would compare to the Bruce Swedien, Bob Clearmountain, Al Schmitt's etc. in the live mixing category.

Most the live guys at that level have gotten off the road and moved on to other things.

Other wise it's just old crap. JS Bach or Beethoven never used auto-tune or comp tracks, nor an eq, a compressor/limiter, a reverb or a delay an analog or digital mix system. All that was achieved in the writing and performance of the music. Obviously Bach and Beethoven were doing it wrong. |

There's plenty of top guys.. Kevin Pruce mixes bjork and madonna and I'm sure many other acts..

Kevin Pruce is one of the top engineers indeed! Some top live music mixers: Big Mick - Metallica John Cooper - Bruce Springteen Jim Warren - Radiohead, NIN and if i'm not wrong U2 One of the youngest and successfull is Eddie Mapp (Evanescence) To name a few.. |
