Exclamation I demand a recount!

I mean, really; this is unbelievable; can it be true?

I walked into the TEC Awards presentation (late) and ended up walking out with an award...

Best Remote Production/Recording or Broadcast:
JVC Newport Jazz Festival.

Man, I truly did not expect it to happen since we were up against some awesome production ventures. I didn't even have a script to read because I was pretty sure that one of the other guys was going to take the prize.

I know one thing, my crew and I worked really hard to make this show sound as good as we could have made it.

I want to personally thank each and everyone of you folks that voted in this category.

Thank you very much!

Congrats Steve.

Something like that happened to my business partner. He did ADR for a guy he met at the Christian video conference last year. When he went to the conference this year, the film was up for an award and the film's creator couldn't be there so he told my friend to hang out just in case. He ended up having to accept the award for him. Pretty surprised. Best film under $250,000.

Thanks a lot folks!

The funny thing is that (at the moment) there's a typo.
They spelled my name wrong and did not include the additional information on the official website, but I trust they will get that straight since I just sent them an email about it.

The correct details should have been as follows:

Remote Engineer: Steve Remote
Production Mixers: Steve Remote and Jon D'Uva
Music Mixer: Steve Remote
Remote Facilities: Aura-Sonic, Ltd.

Additionally, Robert Carvell, Kaz Noda and Robert Anderson rounded out the ASL crew for this event.

There are a bunch of camcorder clips from this event on YouTube which are pretty lame.
I only found a couple of clips from the actual broadcast for the folks that did not see/hear the show.

The quality is lacking much, but I wanted you folks to get an idea of what it was all about...

If you ever make it by the field shop, I can always play the DVDR for you.

Looks like you walk your talk! I am very happy for you and you no doubt won it because you were the best. I am always pleased to see folks are still out there recording America's music, Jazz. It has been a big part of my life for all of my life.

Way to go, Steve!!

Good going

One thing about growing up, the names on these awards aren't just remote (excuse the pun) figures from myth and legend... now I can say, "I know that guy!"

Thanks again folks; you are very kind.

This morning I was just thinking about the fact that I started recording on location right out of high school at the age of 17 or so and started my company when I was just 19 and never looked back...

Believe it or not, once I started the business I never worked another job ever again.
It was all through Aura-Sonic from that point on.

I have built (and maintained) all of my trucks at my house in the old days and at the field shop over the past eight years. That's six trucks (to date) that were built by me and my crew. With that said, only now after winning this award do I feel like I've actually joined the remote recording club. I'm so into doing my own thing that I've isolated myself from everything else.

Perhaps Remote is truly remote.

Steve, AWESOME!! That's the way they all should be....just work the best you can anyways and always put in 110%.......Jimbo Barkin shared some advice with us during the recording of a "CULT" live DVD in L.A.....He said I work on each project as if it is my last...cause it just might be......
