Thread Starter | Does anyone have any suggestions for a laptop setup for scoring and mixing from a hotel room in europe. I want to make a portable system of what I have in the studio. I am using a quad core mac. With the kore as my interface. Ni komplete, Omnisphere, Stylus Rmx, VSL, Logic. I will be scoring a commercial in Portugal. any suggestions? thanx Hayley |

Thread Starter | you know im not sure yet.. I will need a keyboard.... I may not need interface. as i will be writing .. and the either mixing in the box or going to a studio to record vocals and mix. |

| MacBook Pro with your Mac software and instruments installed seems the most 'logical' way to go A simple USB MIDI interface would do fine for keyboard input (assuming that's all you actually need to hook up..?) - something like the Edirol UM-1 |

| Depending on the keyboard, you may not need the UM-1 either... you might be able to hook that straight up via a simple USB cable |

For your needs, I don't think you'll need an external converter if you're not recording anything from live sources. The Macbook Pro has been very reliable, but I do recommend using an external FW drive. Particularly if you have using samples. jeff | |
