I've recently tried recording an organ and instrumental recital with 4 mics into 2 MR-1000's. The mics are 3-KM184's, 1-KM183. This particular organ has a very solid 32' stop, so I wanted to have at least 1 omni channel. I was pleased with the result, thought I'd share a short clip that was part of an organ - english horn piece by Calvin Hampton. This clip does not demonstrate the 32' portion, however. If desired, I can do that. In the past, when I've had a central sound source, the usual cardioid pair did not provide a good center pickup, but with the center mic added, I think the result is better. In the pic, the omni mic is out of sight behind the center mic, slightly higher. By pressing the go buttons simultaneously on the 2 Korg's, I got a pretty good sync. The MR's don't drift much. After extracting the 5.8 DSD to 2 88.2/32bitfloat files with Audiogate, I used SF batch to extract center from the left and LFE from the right, ie created a mono center and mono LFE files from the 2nd MR-1000. I then bounced a stereo track from the 3 files(1 stereo, 2 mono) using Samplitude Master, then snipped this 16/44.1 clip out with Sound Forge. FWIW, as usual, Rick Z
