I was attempting to start a mobile recording business several years ago when I became too busy with school and consequently got a full time job. I'm getting the itch again and finally have spare time. I am questioning whether my setup is sufficient and if I have what I need to make a reasonable attempt at being successful. I have: Powerbook G4 Metric Halo 2882 non-DSP Bias Peak/Deck MOTU DP4 (2) AKG 414's (2) Neumann KM184's (matched) Sennheiser HD580's Headphones When i stopped acquiring gear i was planning to purchase a control surface and a pair of monitors. Is this where I should be going? or...? One more thing, what is everybody's most successful marketing methods? Please advise Thanks Eric |

Well, I started out in the late 70s with an 8 channel Sony MX20 mixer, a Revox A700 1/4" deck, a Crown D60 (for my headphones) and a few transducers. I've recorded legends with that gear... You have a lot more going for you with regard to the gear you listed. My most successful marketing method is "word of mouth." Go for it -- make it so!
