dont know if you guys have heard this, but i found it over on the Millennia Media website, written by john lagrou. Millennia Tutorial: Large Ensemble Listening Test large choir, fabulous space, and several comparisons for listening between just the main pair vs the mains blended with all the spot mics. for some reason, i tend to like just the mains better - it just sounds more like what you would actually hear. signal chains and mic chart are available in the article.

I agree. Just a quick listen but the main pair only feels more natural, especially the female voices blend in better with mains only as opposed to a disconnected feeling in the mix. Funny they used those mic's, I've been looking at those for a while and will try to put them up against MKH8020 and QTC1. /Peter |
