Hi I'm on location recording with MBP Orpheus and al mics, computer are giving light electrical shocks. i have tried to make a direct connection with earth but it seems the earth/ground itsself is the culprit. Is there a way I can fix something connecting a wire to the tap? From where to where should I connect this? Thanks for yor quickest possible response! PS I have a Furman power'cleaner' but did not find the right connection cable (Italy) However, it that might solve the problem I'l take the long drive....) |

This is not a quick response, but it sounds like the power may be wired incorrectly. Have you checked to make sure your ground, neutral and the hot is wired correct? If everything checks out perhaps you have too much ground potential and should drain the ground voltage to Earth.

Everyone should carry a power point wiring tester. If there is a problem find another power source or refuse to do the job on OH&S grounds. Mac Books are double insulated so they should should be directly connected to earth but i would be pretty worried getting any shock from them Is everything tested/tagged? I'm not sure what the standard is in Europe but i believe they are fairly close to ours. Testing will ensure everything is wired correctly. |
