It's not McCartney or Dylan who have passed their sell-by date, it's Letterman, who is way too cynical now to deliver the sometimes hilarious jokes his writers produce. He should leave us wanting more. Is that 77 ever turned on?

It's not a 77; it's a Neumann M147.

The forum is not just for location recording.
We discuss television and radio broadcasting; live sound; live performances; Jazz and classical stuff; even bluegrass, soul and R&B; what about world music? - yep we discuss that stuff too.
Anything acoustic with real musicians baby!

We even talk about rock related topics as long as it's a live performance.

Every now and then we have stray folks posting off-topic stuff just because they like the way the forum flows.
If those threads seem appropriate I leave them be.
If not, I move them to the right forum.

I hope this freakin' explains it for you sir.

Breath of fresh air. And even funnier that he pushed it once again...

Sure hope I can look that good and still rock out at 66. That was a powerful performance, not a wobbly old man kind of thing. Great to see the Greats still walking the earth.

Yeah I think he was joking too.

Like the story George Martin told during the George Harrison concert on VH1 a few years back when he passed. (I don’t remember exactly what it was called)

He said that the first time he met talked to the Beatles in the studio, he was telling them how he wanted to make sure they had a very open dialogue and that they felt like they could tell him anything. Martin asked if the band had anything to say and Harrison said, “Well… I don’t like ya tie fuh stahtuhs!”

That was a really cool moment.

Not trying to raise a ruckus, Steve. The whole discussion to the point of my first point just seemed very OT for this forum to me.

Cheers!

Lightbulb

Hey, did anyone notice that the broadcast music mix was reversed?
The L/R was swapped during McCartney's performances.

He was joking. It's called dry humour. It's an English thing.
