I have no idea if they are going to be releasing a new one any time soon, but for me at least, the current mkII version I own has everything I was looking for.

After using it for quite a few gigs there has not been any lack of features that have bugged me. That's true the battery is not replaceable, but for my use (recording recitals and concerts) I always run it off wall power anyway to be safe. Maybe someone who has used it in the field a lot can comment if they are no longer getting good "charge cycles" on the battery anymore.

My favorite feature by far is the digital input. I like the flexibility of using the onboard converters and pres for quick and dirty jobs where it's "good enough" but love being able to use my external pres and apogee or Lucid A/D converters, for gigs that warrant them.

Thanks!
