Question WAV v AIFF Files in LogicPro 8

Hello guys and I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere and if it has I just couldn't find it with a few diff searches.

I have been using a Macbook/LogicPro 8/Glyph 500g as backup for 32 trks (HD24's) via a Presonus Firestudio Lightpipe and I noticed that when I record using AIFF files the longest 32 trk Live session file I can record is 2 hrs. When I changed the format to WAV files I am able to record up to 4 hrs (exact same setup) which I thought was weird.
Anyone else found this?

Perhaps logic is creating stereo interleaved aiff files vs mono wav files. That could possibly explain the 2GB limit that you're experiencing.
