Talking Bruce Springsteen Live at Glastonbury

Did anyone see Bruce Springsteen Live on TV at Glastonbury last night ?

He was awesome!. I grew up with him in my house and have always loved him. My mum was actually at glasto as she goes every year i was really really jealous of her seeing him.

He was awesome for his age and really stole the crowd.

Even though the music i do is primarily house/techno id give my right nut to be in the E street band

I haven't seen him live since the days of Born To Run. I did catch his TV appearance at the Superbowl, which was amazing. Truly a major talent.

Yeh, He put in a great Show.
Of course they will be a well oiled machine, having done so many gigs on the World Tour.
Apparently they only decide the first 2 Numbers and its Freeflow from there.
Gotta say that the Drummer Max Weinberg was outstanding, very fluid and gets a lot out of one small High Tom. The overall Drum sound was absolutely amazing.
Bruce does indeed look in good shape, although "Little Steven" is not looking so Little these days.
Nils Lofgren is still a great talent himself.

I also thought Neil Young put in a great perfomance the Day before.

They got fined for playing longer than they should have. Rock on!!!!!

Saw the Neil Young performance on tv and it was spectacular, Springsteens was just as good. Loved it when he ventured to the audience.

He killed it! As did Neil Young the night before. BBC's coverage is great!

I saw a thing in the news where Sean Lennon was apparently "horrified" that someone as middle of the road as Bruce would headline Glastonbury. I like Sean (even his music), but that struck me as a boy making comments on a man- sized talent. I mean, Sean has managed two half decent albums in an illustrious 10 year career, he really shouldn't be worrying about what Bruce is up to. You can't judge Bruce on his legion of meathead fans, the guy is a very serious bandleader and he really gives his all on stage. I'm not a giant Springsteen fan, but have big respect for him.

Evidently the BBC coverage came across well - I was in the crowd for this, and to be honest, a lot of people weren't that into it - certainly not as much as for Blur, Bloc Party or even Tom Jones.

Problem for me was that he seemed to play a lot of new/slightly more obscure stuff (fully prepared to be corrected here, although that was also the opinion of the more (ahem) mature punters we were camping next to).

Shame really - especially since he started with "coma girl" by Joe Strummer, a personal favourite.

Can't fault the workrate or musicianship though - just the material choice.

On a more obscure note, one of the most interesting bands I saw was The Mummers - well worth checking out if you're into slightly folky stuff (think Guillimots with a slightly eastern sounding girl singer).
