Exclamation In search of a venue and bands....

Hi guys and gals, this kinda doesnt fit within an other of the forums so i'll post it here and someone will move it to the correct location

as some of you know, i have been working on a website http://www.thataudioguy.net which goes live 1st of july

I am looking for a venue on the 3rd of july or 10th of july to do a live broadcst from, which is going to be broadcast via the site for 5 bands, which will be live recorded and files posted for a mixing comp in august. However....

1) I need advice on a venue, preferably within the city (data will be streamed live, so good connectivity to wireless or dsl 2 required)

2) I need bands willing to allow their material to a) be recorded b) broadcast live and c) willing to be mixed by people they dont know (the bands retain the rights to the material, however will sign a waiver to allow the broadcast, recording and mixing and posting of mixes for peer review)

Does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Cam

Do you have a budget or is this a free stuudent thing where the bands are footing the bill based on their crowd pulling power?

I would get a technical requirements list together and phone the obvious venues in Melbourne to see if they can meet your requirements.

Try the Hi-Fi bar, Ding Dong Lounge, Northcote Social Club etc etc... or maybe the place they film Noise TV at near Sydney Road... Just some suggestions for you.

But normally gigs are arrange 3 months in advance by many band bookers in Melbourne so get your skates on man.

Best of luck and peace,
