Working in between gigs is tough, but I trust we will have a lot more done over the next few weeks.

It's called being an insomniac...

And, I consider myself a procrastinator; go figure;-)

Sounds like my ex-wife. When she was called a perfectionist he replied, "Oh, no, I never get anything right. Oooops"

Now it's time to drill some holes for the liquid tight connectors and conduit.

So, we drilled the holes and ran the output power lines from the XFMRs through the conduit...

They ended up inside the truck body coming up through the floor.

Eventually we shall fabricate a Cam-Lok/L5-30 I/O panel to interface (or bypass) the XFMRs to rest of the truck's L5-30 and Edison outlets and such...

This project's on hold until the XFMR bin's I/O panel is built and ready to be installed.

We are moving onto the console pedestal and A/V I/O panels and storage racks. (See next post)

These audio/video I/O panel and storage racks also act as the console pedestal.

Access to the racks will be via the two outside barn doors.
Mouse holes and such will also be installed when the wood work is done.

Here are a few paliminary shots of the dual heat pump frame that's going to be mounted on the body over the cab...

The work looks like it is being done in Germany or Switzerland: neat and meticulous. You could start a side-line custom building these things. Just in case you ever have some spare time, Yeah, right.

On that note...

The HVAC frame is almost completed.
Once we grin down the welds, we plan to prime and paint.
We're using that "truck bed-liner" rubberized paint for the final coat.

Thanks for noticing; I'm all about being neat and meticulous, whether I'm capturing a performance, mixing a recording or building my trucks and rigs.

You know something; we've talked about starting a custom shop, but I won't even consider it unless I had a great GM and top-notch shop guy that completely understand the dynamic in build an Aura-Sonic product.

Perhaps one of these (years) days; I would dig that sort of operation.

A dry run with the "washer/dryers" before we install the top HVAC supports and paint the (frame) sucker.

What will the noise level be inside the control room with the new HVAC system installed? How do you go about isolating the mechanical vibrations from the units themselves in walls that a truck would have?

Well, the (noisy) business end of the split air systems will be outside while the ceiling air handlers will be inside the studio space.

The actual noise level is to be determined, but based on the equipment specs, it will be pretty comfortable.
I will know exactly where that's at in about in a couple of weeks or so...

We're installing the outside HVAC compressors on Cosmo ASAP, but then we're directing all our efforts to installing the complete HVAC system in Elroy, since we have bookings the end of August which are pending Elroy's completion and test run.

The unit shall be isolated from mechanical vibrations via rubber mounts.
Only the plumbing and power/control cables will be running through the truck's walls.

I reevaluated how I want to deal with the Cosmo's HVAC system and its placement...

I now want to place them inside the body (in the peak area) above the tunnel bin with louvered vents and such.

I'm not happy with how they now seat above the cab.

In any event, the units shall be isolated from mechanical vibrations via Mason double deflection neoprene mounts.

Yep, I'd rather workout the difficulties and do it right than live with something I'm not happy with.

It's not about the time or money at that point.

I do plan to keep the same framing with a few slight modifications.

I'm continuing the work on Cosmo, once Elroy heads for its new MBB Interlift lifegate.
