Exclamation Need engineer for chamber gig in Austin TX for Friday night - anybody?

hey guys - my son (a grad composer from UT) is hosting a chamber music concert on friday night, and he needs someone to record it. there will be a variety of music types, some just chamber ensemble, some vocal material, maybe a small choral group, so you will probably need a main stereo pair, plus a spot or two. these should be some pretty outstanding musicians. he is willing to pay $150 for recording services. not much, but that's all he can afford.

i know time is short here (it is this friday evening at 8pm in the Long Center). if this interests you and you have the gear to handle it, please let me know ASAP so i can put you in touch. if you cant do it, but know someone who might, please let them know and see if they are interested. thanks.

If I was only a few states closer...and I'm free to boot! And as a composer I'd love to be there.

I'm in a similar boat as Marty. Already committed to family matters, otherwise I'd be happy to work with your son.

As a UT grad, does he happen to know Aurelien Petillot from Viola By Choice and the Austin Symphony? I record all of the VBC performances. Lots of fun.

Regards,
John

hi john - i will ask him, but i am sure he does. he runs audio inversions, and is pretty heavily connected in the chamber universe there.

Ah yes. Audio Inversions did a joint concert with VBC this last season. The space was quite challenging to record in.

I was actually considering contacting Audio Inversions to see if they had a desire to record their performances.

Regards,
John
