Exclamation Classical Location Recording Support in Ireland?

Folks,

I'm looking for Dublin, Ireland area - based Classical recording gear infrastructure (stands, cabling, mics, speakers, communications) and local session support for a good-sized classical project in the Dublin vicinity later this year. I would provide the lead engineer, producer, the recording workstation/converters, main mics and board if we have to.

We're already considering London-based support, but would prefer to keep shipping and transportation costs down due to the (now) usual limited budget.

Any suggestions or referrals are welcome!

.

I have a contact in Dublin for you.

If he's not available I'm sure he will lead you in the right direction.

A PM was sent with all the details.

Good luck on the project!

Hi there

I am based in Cambridge but I work as a producer for RTE several times a year (think BBC of Ireland) recording CDs for their various performing groups. There is an excellent balance engineer there who uses mostly DPA stuff with Grace Preamps and Yamaha DM consoles. Whether he can use these outside his employment I don't know but I am sure I can help by giving you a few contacts.

Thank you, Matt. PM the contact info if you can.

DPA mics and Grace would work well. The Yamaha board wouldn't as we're recording to DSD. An all-analog chain is needed here. Most important is the overall recording infrastructure: stands, cabling, snake to CR, communications, monitors. This is a set of recording sessions and not a live recording so we use a "studio" setup at the location.

Thanks again!

.

hey for dublin gear and professional info ireland check

Big Bear Sound Limited - Professional Audio Services - Call +353 1 4100 212
ask for micheal..

lots of big gigs in the past..Buena vista social club for example

(RTE - think BBC of Ireland) - complete boll*cks - not in the same league division etc , R.T.E. stands for radio.television. of ireland.

BBC is quite possibly the highest quality of broadcasting in western world..although all broadcasting is slipping in content and quality..but thats a different thread....website?

rant over...give the bigbear a shout....hope you like guinness

Crikey that's a bit over the top isn't it? Its not fair to write off everybody within an organisation and tar them with the same brush. I record CDs at the NCH with a particular engineer whom I feel is every bit as good as the ex Decca guys I usually use in London. I am sure Big Bear are great too and hopefully everybody speaks really highly of your good self.
