Question M-Audio Microtrack

Hey.. has anyone seen/used one of these?
I just bid on a TASCAM DA-P1 and then I saw this thing.

What should I do?
I want to be able to record decently on location without getting too crazy.

DAT would cost $600, this would be $500 (or less)

Here's the link

s/pdif digital input means you can use any A/D converter w/ s/pdif. Pretty cool. Although the intention is to be self-contained. I'm just saying, if you wanted to use different converters it is an option.

This is just out on the market or not quite released yet. I'm interested myself, as they got something right that so many others didn't: the SPDIF *input*. This allows you to use whatever converters you want, so the mirco-Track basically becomes as good as your converters. The lack of a SPDIF input is the only reason I haven't bought an Edirol R-1, which otherwise is a great little device.

I was thinking of this in a little bag with a Mini Me.

Definitely more portable than a full Dr. Evil rig!
