| Gear nut |
Hi all I've been asked to go up to Zimbabwe to run the main stage at their annual arts festival (HIFA). Gear is pretty thin on the ground there so I'll be bringing a bunch of mics from South Africa. For the opera night, there will be 5 singers who need to move around during their performance. I figured Countryman E6's will be the way to go. However, they need to be used with AKG PT40 belt packs as those are the only ones they have up there. Most people in South Africa use them with Shure packs, and hiring in and travelling with 5 Shure wireless systems is prohibitive. I need to get hold of 5 of the snap-on cables for use with AKG packs. I will have to buy them and get them sent out to Zimbabwe by next Friday. Any advice on the cheapest place to buy from in the US? The festival's budget is pretty tight. (it's amazing that they're even managing to put a festival on given the mess that country's in!). Thanks Keith

I don't know of any connector adapters, you'll probably have to re-terminate the ends. Call Countryman for the specifics; they will have wiring diagrams.

Countryman may sell the wire terminated for AKG. I agree, it's best to call them- if they don't have them available, they'll know who has them in stock, but they can probably find a dealer near you. Call or email them ASAP.

They have them in different colors and several terminations. Countryman might sell them to you direct or refer you to a stocking dealer. I've bought them through Full Compass before and was happy with them. They cost around $50-60 in US.
