They look like tool tray stands for mechanics.

Two-way Rolling Tree Stand - Frontgate

maybe something like that, but I don't think it's keyboard specific.

Yeah that's getting close . I agree they're probably not actually for keys .. They kind of look like those things that hold transports , but I don't know what they're called ..
Anyone else ..please !

I don't know about the stands, but if I ever see the drummer from their SNL appearance walking down the street, I'm going have to kidnap him. That guy was a machine, in a good way.

Sorry for the off-topic comment, but the video can't be viewed from outside the US. I can watch SNL any Saturday on TV, but I am not allowed to watch this clip?

This makes no sense to me.

Funny you say that. I was half asleep when the song came on and I thought "that snare and kick is a sample from a trigger".

I briefly remember a quick camera angle showing a trigger on the snare. I may be wrong, though.

In which case, the drummer WAS a machine. There just happened to be a guy pretending to hit the drums hard.

*****Update from 2 minutes later*****

Yea, I just took a minute and listened. Kick and snare sounds like a sample.

When I watched it (Saturday Night) Live, I didn't get any impression that he wasn't actually playing, though (regardless of whether his kit was hooked up to triggers or not). If he was miming to a prerecorded track that precisely, he's still got to be a pretty tight drummer to pull that off IMHO.

Also, when they showed the "going to commercial" graphic with a pic of the band, it only showed four dudes, which I assume leaves out at least one keyboard player (the guy with the longer hair and beard was only on stage for the first song) and the drummer. So I'm wondering if the drummer wasn't a session guy.

Ok well now we're completely off topic , which is fine because ---yes the drummer rules. I am gonna sound like a name dropping prick but we played a few shows with Phoenix in australia and the drummer REALLY is the shit. I don't know if he's a full "member" but he's been with them for a while now . Ok so back to the stands... any idea??!!!
