Question standard broadcast equipment?

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of preamps, and other processing equipment that are standards in television news broadcasts, and other on location tv broadcast events. presidential broadcasts? are they the regular players in the game? like neve and such, or are they more obscure? i recently started getting into freelance HD encoding, and i am becoming very familiar with Tandberg equipment. i hadnt heard of tandberg until about a year ago. i have seen a lot of calrec boards out there, but not sure if they are using onboard pre's or not. i was hoping that some of you remote guys might shed some light. thanks

I know of an API 500 series rack that supposedly came from WWF. Yes, wrestling. I also see a lot of ATI, Rolls, Shure, Wendt, PSC for sale as field mixers at B&H photo -

Of course there's Nagra, but they make recorders.

Typically they are specialized and integrated into a broadcast console. Look at Wheatstone, Audio Arts, or similar. Symetrix is also a popular brand for broadcast vocal channels.

For remote you see a lot of the brands jlaber mentioned, but I would also add Sound Devices to that list.

Mixers; in US and UK mostly digital Calrecs, in europe Studer vista and Lawo MC series, stagetec also.. NOT neve, SSL is also a very small player..
Processing: Waves l2/ RCLmaxx, tc system 6000, junger limiters, cedar dns.. Tandberg indeed make quite a bit of equipment; satellite encoders, but they also manufacture the dolby brand dolby E encoders.. Axon makes a lot of encoders and decoders..

Sheez.. So much equipment... Quite a broad question..
