Exclamation Free Sony PCM-3324

Dear all.
If anybody has any interest in a Sony PCM-3324(A) with remote and cables please let me know. I have 2 machines here and am looking to free up some space in the storage room. It is a pretty low hour machine, fully functioning, with Apogee filters in the AD converters. Includes updated timecode and sync boards.
Anybody that can pick up the machine in Boston is free to take it. Seriously.
All the best,
-mark

How much for shipping to Germany...? I've always wanted a 24-track backup recorder...

Daniel, if I remember correctly that machine is huge. Last time I ran into one was back in 93 while recording at the Norwegian radio.
I could be very very wrong, but if it is the machine I remember it is the size of two BW801 speakers

If it's the same size as the 3348 I work on (format transfers from older recordings), then yes, it's an enormous and very heavy beast. I wouldn't even want to think about the cost of transporting it overseas.

I also have two of those machines and they are not as large as the 3348s were.
They are about 2/3 of the size of the 3348.

Kjetil, I'm well aware of that fact... I was just kiddin'...
I guess the price of shipping would exceed what the unit is worth by quite a large margin...

I have the 3324s version which was pretty state-of-the-art at the time and my HD24XR recorders definitely sound better to me.

I'm holding mine along with my 23 DTRS machines for Sci-Fi prop rentals.

The self-life for digital technology is pretty short I'm afraid.

Road Trip

Thanks Mark and especially John for the offer of the 2 3324 machines.

We had a great time in Boston and got the machines home safely ...They both fired up and run great...

The border guards at customs could not beleave how large a tape machine could be!!!!..... and when they asked me to take them out of the truck I mentioned that they weigh about 400 lbs.... 5 minutes of conversation and they sent us on our way...ironically they didnt even bother to open the flight case or look at either machine.

The Staff at Sound Mirror are proof that there are great people in this industry....
