Question Edirol R-09HR - recording errors/glitches

Hello fellow slutz. I recently recorded a Gene Ween Band concert in Carrboro, NC with my new Edirol R-09HR. I've never used this recorder to capture a live show before, but figured what the hell, I'll try it out. I set it up to record as 24bit 44.1kHz wave files and adjusted the input gain so peaks were around -6dbFs. However, much to my dismay there are audible pops/clicks throughout all the recordings (see attached audio files). In the first file you will notice some random glitches in the beginning that do indeed peak above 0dbFs, but the rest of the recording does not truly peak, though audible pops/clicks are present.

Has anyone had any similar problems with this field recorder or others that could shed some light on this mystery? It makes the entire concert pretty much unlistenable, especially on headphones . I used a 2GB Kingston SD card, not an SDHC one. Could this be the problem? I'm a bit worried it's something else though because previously when recording a lecture using the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) setting, the left channel was peaking and fluctuating greatly while the right channel remained steady around -20dbFS. I called Roland and got an RMA to return the device, but was hoping there is a simple solution that I'm overlooking.

Feel free to listen to the attached audio files to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
Mitch
