Question Pauline Heister, Engineer

Anyone know how to reach her? I've been listening to some of her classical solo piano recordings and wanted to let her know how much I like them. I've searched for a website or any other contact info, but didn't turn up anything other than credits.

Cheers,

Have you tried contacting any of the record labels she is involved with?
They may have the contact information you're looking for or perhaps they could at least relay a message for you.

allmusic ((( Pauline Heister > Credits )))

You could also try to contact others that are involved with her.
They may be more accessible.

I hope this helped!

I'm bumping this after a long period because I've just listened to more of her work and think it's very well done. I was unable to get any info from the record labels, so here is the only info I've been able to find (and this was Google translated from German):

Quote:
Born in 1963 in Euskirchen, began after the qualifying school mixer studies at the Musikhochschule in Detmold. She then worked as a producer at Sony Classical record label. There, she made numerous CD, TV and film productions throughout Europe with internationally renowned artists and orchestras. A long-standing collaboration connects with the Berlin Philharmonic under Claudio Abbado. In 1997, Pauline Heister was a freelancer for BMG, DG, NAXOS, WDR, etc. For 2 years she received a teaching position in the art of music to the Music Academy in Detmold. Since 2000 she is employed as a sound engineer at the Bayerische Rundfunk in Munich. Where she heads the editorial board since 2003, an additional music / production and has since been occasionally as a judge at competitions.
I think the piano sounds she got on the Murray Perahia Plays Handel and Scarlatti recordings, particularly on the Scarlatti Sonata in D Major K. 491, are about as good as I've ever heard and I'd love to tell her so and perhaps ask some questions. I tried going to the Bayerische Rundfunk website, but didn't really see any contact info.

If anyone knows how to reach her, I'd appreciate if you could let me know. While I don't know German, I do have a friend who can do some translating if needed.

Cheers,

hey don,
there is a contact link on the homepage of the bayrische rundfunk.
it is at the bottom of the page, just scroll down.
in german it is called "kontakt"

if you click on that link there are several options of whom you like to contact.
click on "technik" and drop them a line.

good luck

Thanks, Holger, I'll gave it a try but it seems that the "Kontakt" is only for technical problems for subscribers. I did send a message, though, so we'll see if they can forward it to her.

Never got a reply.

On a positive note, I received an email from her this morning. It seems the tech people forwarded my note to her and she responded! She gave me some background on the sessions and also said that she "still has docs and papers about the recording," and I should feel free to ask her any questions I might have.

Thanks, Holger, for the advice!

Sometimes the internet is truly a marvel!
