Question cheap stereo pair for audience recording

Hi,
I accept suggestions for a cheap (<150$) stereo pair for audience recording in (mainly rock) 24 tracks live recording.
Most are closed-venues recording.
Many thanks.

Two SM57's with tape around the side vents to make them omni, or just use cardioid like normal.

In my experience, the MXL 603/604 pencil mics will probably serve you better than JM27s.

They're more around $200.00 USD, but...

What about a pair of EV 635A or 635A/B microphones?

Shure VP64's are a great sleeper in this arrangement. I had to use them on a truck once, then I bought several sets when I bought a remote truck, and they became the mainstay for rear- or in-audience choices!

Not to mention the condensation from 600 sweaty people in that basement. Man, I hate that place! Carrying a cased Ampeg 8x10 down those steps is NO FUN! The house people have been very pleasant to work with, though.

Nady CM90's @ 50 clams each.
According to Michael Joly, these are the same mics as the 603's with a different housing. I just bought 4 of them for that exact purpose.
