The one of the Verona with a distant stage is John Malcovich interviewing an artist who has a show at the Boston ICA...weird stuff, like the largest casted cube of glass in existence. My dog loves anything that looks like I might sleep on it.

Great photos! I have nothing to contribute, as I'm a hill giant, but I love seeing all the great things that all you people do! LOVE IT.

a couple of pics from some recent work... the first is the FOH tent at a gig in which I took a D-show profile console to the Whitsunday Islands... two shows and two travel days... all in a weeks work. the second pic is from a trade-show appearance in which James Morrison played a few numbers. interesting to note the bass trumpet being played.

Did my first outdoor event this weekend. Lots of nice people, perfect weather and nice music. Some fifteen young acts performing mostly their own material with a connection to anti-violence. There has been some ugly stuff going on lately and a bunch of teenagers started this organization and lots of good stuff is happening. This was a competition and in the jury I was glad to see former top boxer George Scott/Cramne. Hade a chat with him which was really nice and it turned out we have some common old friends (I was an elite fighter as well in my youth). Business is going well and I have added video to my services. This was the first time outdoors both for audio and video but it turned out fine. I used two PMW-EX1(R) and one EOS 550D. One cam at the FOH tent, one halfway up to the scene at the side and the 550D mobile for close ups. Next week I have an opera where I will use three cam's for the first time. Will add one EX3 to the two EX1R. Sooo exciting! :-) The three well dressed young men on the bench was from various parts of Africa and did some nice afro/calypso/rap-thingy. In the FOH tent: George Scott and the two other jury members (one from Swedish Radio) The young girl at the stage picked up the guitar a year ago, wrote her own song and entered a stage the first time. A diamond in the rough who gave mee goose bumps and wet eyes. So strong to see her there on the stage, slightly unsecure but still with a lot of power and presence. Last pic showing the cam at the FOH tent and a pair of MKH8040 in Rycote windshields. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() /Peter |

Some photos for a current CD-project taken during a session yesterday. The CD is a live recording of a Swedish folkmusic duo playing nyckelharpa and fiol. ![]() ![]() /Peter |

Thanks Steve! :-) This is so much fun. I have played around with video and stills for many years but not on a high level and very sporadically. My recording business is giving me opportunities to jump into other areas as well and although a little scary at first I have gained confidence on the audio side and I feel it's getting easier to try new stuff with a relaxed (relatively spoken.. :-) attitude and a positive mindset. You wrote a couple of words that I have been thinking on lately.. "risking it all to reach the top" or something like that. I feel there's plenty in those words. While my main interest is music and audio I'm open to new stuff and right now I'm playing around with light for opera, video and photo and I have a lot of fun working on these different projects. /Peter |

I've finally got a new small-ish camera, so took it to Isle Of Wight this weekend. Still couldn't find time to take pictures of course, but snapped these in spare moments * picture of Big Top monitor world * our stage rack (why I didn't take a pic of the control room I'm not sure) * desk tape - after it occured to me not to screw it up and throw in the bin * an example of the mess our stage kit got in. Dust blowing everywhere. |

Ha, yes, I'm still cleaning it though. I gave the preamp rack a thorough vacuum before a gig the other day, but clearly the only way to get everything clean again will be to disassemble the racks and do it piece by piece. We were just unlucky at Isle Of Wight that directly between us and the artist entrance to the tent was a grassless patch of dirt which was blown towards our rig by the breeze blowing in through the entrance. Not sure if that keyboard has survived yet! |

A setup with two broadcast OB-vans for a music-festival in Fribourg/Switzerland. During a whole week all concerts in the evening were broadcasted live (on Espace2, the french-speaking radio for classical music in Switzerland), the concerts in the afternoon were recorded. The last broadcast from this event is today. For this production I was not the technical responsible, I just was in the technical organisation committee for this festival. - see also some other pics from the flying main microphone pair here: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/5599329-post128.html )

Nice truck; do you have any pictures of the inside of this cool little OB vehicle?

unfortuantely I have no pics from inside... there is no space for more than 2 persons inside, as you see. ![]() but as I saw it is equipped with a Studer Vista console (Vista5 (?) - the smallest of the Vista-series) and they are going to record with Pyramix. The second OB van looks like an old camping mobile - used as a speaker cabin for presentation and interviews. Obviously the whole setup is not forseen for big productions. Probably all the huge OB vans or HDTV trucks were located at the Montreux-Jazz-Festival (2.-17. July 2010) last week. :-) |

This is from a, ahem, "field recording" ![]() However, I used a smallish standard AB pair, not this mic placement. Outside recording is fun, except that halway into the first take it started to pour down. Not wanting my equipment to perform in the latest issue of "wet gear monthly", we tore it all down and had dinner. After some grilled cheese and potatoes, we were off again - without rain but including an atrocious mosquito swarm which made a sonic imprint on the recording. |

| Gear nut | Pro 6 It sure does! Once I got my head round the layout/workflow, it was such a pleasure to use. I liked the fact that most things on the board have a single function, so no paging through stuff to get where you want, although the panpot can become an fx send if one so desires... Everything revolves around the VCA's and as I spend most of my time mixing in VCA/DCA mode on a console anyway, it was fabulous to be able to select a VCA and see all the assigned channels come up on the faders closest to you on the left. Buttons are big and chunky (it's built like a tank) and it's great to have two screens to work with. Pre's and EQ sound great, as you'd expect of a top-end Midas. A few niggles, like no assignable tap and the fact that one is limited to the DN780 reverbs, plus there is limited physical I/O on the console itself if you want to patch in external stuff at the FOH position. In my case, there was a load of AV feeds from the different sponsors which meant I ran out of inputs for external outboard. That said, the onboard stuff is great - several different types of compression as well. There's a B section on the right of the console, which can be controlled independently of the A section - handy if you want to have access to the lead vocal or an instrument at all times, or if you don't have the time to teach the console to a visiting engineer and still give him something to do to make him feel useful! Even if it is just riding a vocal! Looking forward to checking out the Pro 3 - less money & less inputs, but still has the same features. As long as they don't change the name to Behringer Pro 3! ![]() Keith |

Heya, here are a few pics from a concert recording last sunday. I record and provide the orchestra with audio and pictures from the event as well as designing a cover for the CDs. This is a very nice client to work with and they play really well. Especially for an amateur orchestra! ![]() Anyone feel like commenting my test surround mix? Heya, I had to share this My choir was performing Requiem by Maurice Duruflé from the organ gallery of St Jacob's Church in Stockholm this saturday. To reach that high, I had to rent a mic stand that would go up to 8 metres. It was a Manfrotto 6 m stand with a 2 m extension. In short a beast of a light stand and not very stable... Fortunately I taped it down thoroughly and put warning tape around it so that the audience would not bump into the stand. Noone did. Here are some pics of the mics, soloists, the choir, organ and the rest of the church. And the concert if anyone is interested in hearing the resulting audio: http://www.livingsound.se/durufle.zip |
