Hey guys, After doing some research on a decent cost effective cart setup for production sound this is what i've come up with. Please give all the feedback on any peice you can why it would or would'nt be ideal. (this setup is for a boom op and mixer team and this is the basic beginings of our rig... so far) Budget = 15,000 Here we go! 1.Yamaha DM1000v2 $5,000 (ive seen this on quite a few features. From what i understand the Pre's are very clean. It also multitasks, because theoretically we can use it to 5.1 mix's on it post if need be.) 2. Denecke GR1 Master clock $1,000 3. Rosandahl Mif3 TC to MTC converter ~$500(Pro Tools LE can sync to MTC) 4. Digi 002 Rack ~$1,000 5. Mac Mini ~800 6. Sennheiser MKH-416 Shotgun ~$2,300(including pistol, rycote, boom pole, shockmount) 7. Sennheiser Evo G2 100 wireless setup X2 ~$1,300 8. Denecke TS-C slate `$1,200 This is the basic workings of it. We already have some other things like HD-P2 misc shotgun mic's and various other lav's etc. But thats mostly run and gun equip. the reason im thinking of going with a protools based setup; we also do sound design and post. So we would like to do the production as well as post on the same projects. This will make transitioning into post much easier. This whole setup is hypothetical. Im a bit newer to production sound. my partner has been doing it for years. Please tear it apart, let loose! |
