Welcome knutta!

This must be an incredibly live room .... both the piano and singer sound very distant for 3 meters. I would've guessed more like 8 meters based on what I hear. I would come considerably closer for my taste, but I'd still want some of that room in the picture ... just raise the ratio of direct to reverberant sound.

What spacing and/or external pre did you use?

Thanks for posting!

I agree with Michael. Nice sound overall, but much too much reverberant vs direct to maintain clarity. You did not offer any melismatic sections, but I would expect them to be rather blurred.

OTOH the little I heard of the soprano might cause me to think you stayed distant for a reason-- in that case, good thinking!

Thanks a lot for comments!

I measured the distance today and it was 4.5 metres from the singer and 5.5 metres from the pianist. I was afraid of getting to much piano if I went to close. but I totally agree with you that it sounds a bit distant. I would also like a sound that´s warmer.

The microphones goes straight to the korg. No external pre. I tried to copy the ONNO microphone configuration.

Not sure what you mean by this-- they are 2 entirely different mics. The 8020 actually have directionality in the HF-- the 4060/61 do not.

As you undertstand - I am quite new in this game. I didn´t know that the senn mics had directionality in the HF. I just tried with different setups, and liked the sound better with the mics pointing 90 degrees outwards.

Ouch. With headphones probably? Try parallel, pointing to the source. That's the starting point for AB. Omnis at an angle smear the localization over the frequency even more than when parallel.

Sometimes the on axis HF pickup is more important than the image. Then you could think about pointing each mic slightly to the side sources.
