Question Stage monitors for vocals and keys? (band practice room)

Hi people, we re just setting up a band practice room for the music school i m working in, so far we ve finished with the sound proofing and acoustical treatment, got the drums set, 2 guitar amplifiers and 1 bass amp.

So we re left with the vocals and the keyboard set up. The way we thinking to deal with the vocs and keys is running them through 2 stage monitors. There is already a mixer and an amp available for that. The amplifier is a QSC USA900 (450w @ 4ohms) so we re just looking for a nice pair of passive monitors to go with that amp...

room size is L:5.5m W:3.2m H:3m

What do you people think about this set up? I would appreciate any advice, or any recomendations about monitors, thanks

RCF 310 passive - one of the cheapest speakers with a very good sound and good directivity (349 EUR here in germany) :: RCF :: Home Page

If you're somewhere where you can get Yorkville stuff, they offer a very good bang for the buck, and they're built like tanks. Otherwise JBL Eons are always great, as is anything from EV.

I don't know the Club V Series but the JBL EON-Series I know sounds shrill in the midrange.

I use the RCF ART 310 on stage and they sound REALLY good - we also have Kling & Freitag 12/2 and they don't sound too different - but they cost about 1200 EUR each! I think the RCF ART 310 are a bargain. You definately should test them! Something nice: Their weight is just around 10kg!

I like the Yorkville and EV too. I have a pair of EV SX300s and they're great as monitors or mains for small shows.

I 'm in Greece, i dont think i can get any yorkville stuff around here, but i can get EV or JBL EON stuff,
what specifications do you think i should look for on the speakers?... the amp that will be used is 450w and it sais on the back:
4ohms minimum impendence per channel.
8ohms minimum impendence in mono bridge mode.

thanks for the replies guys

I would look for passive 8 ohm speakers. That way you can jump 2 of them together on one channel for a 4 ohm load. Power rating should be 200-400 watts continuous.
