IF the chips are listed on the website, can you point to them pleaase? I don't see it. Plus it takes more than chips, it takes a whole circuit, which I why I'd like to hear testimony...

Thanks Pascal,
I have been looking into Boom recorder, and Metacorder. Just really want a super simple set up. I will not always be the operator. I will have other engineers fill in for me, so I want to make it as simple as a Tascam DA-88 (when working!) Good to hear you can get that kind of track count. Last big show I did had 124 tracks, 2 pro-tool rigs, took up a small office. Hey but I looked really important!
thanks
Eric

Just used it.

Ive just used the Joeco Blackbox for two recent sessions, both live, one 80's cover band with 22 inputs and for a choir concert with 4 Earthworks mics. Initial impressions are that this unit is superior to my HD24 in the AD/DA conversion. Stability and ease of use are perfect so far. You can monitor with this unit (and a finger because channel 1 is in your left ear while channel 2 is in the right and so on through 23,24) but I am used to monitoring with a mixer so its fine for me.

+1 for Boom Recorder.

We run it on a Mac Pro in the truck as the backup to ProTools. Knock on wood, it's never even hiccuped, even at 60+ tracks at once. That machine uses an RME madi card for the i/o & records to an internal SATA drive.

The developer stalled a bit when Snow Leopard came out for Mac, but I think they're trying to keep up with a new version shortly.

If only JoeCo would come out with a MADI interface option.

Hi Guys,

I am regularly doing recordings of live concerts with two incoming streams of MADI (56ch) on Nuendo. We need to build a backup machine for this. Does anyone know if Boom Recorder or Metacorder can cope with over 64 channels? I want a foolproof backup possibly on a Mac Pro with the SSL 128 MADI card.

Best

New thread for the new subject would be good. You can look up the specs for Boom recorder online...

http://www.vosgames.nl/products/BoomRecorder/

says 64 channels. Use two Mac Pros?
