No, not what teams will make it or who will win:

Will Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band play completely live or not?

Hope they do... but then that wouldn't be very Superbowlish, now would it? But hey, it's Bruce, so they have to. I think it will be completely live.

Prince, McCartney, don't remember, but probably Aerosmith? Can be live.

What should Springsteen play? How about 'Candy's Room'?

I think a click is not much different from having a conductor waving his arms

but backing tracks is definitely not 'completely live'

I think he'll be live, and it will be the Giants vs the Ravens ( thank God I'm not betting on either of these predictions).

I say Springstein will use backing tracks. I can probably find out from somebody working the SB.

On your other prediction:
Ravens would have to beat the Titans next week at home. Don't think so.
Giants/Titans

I agree, next week is a tough one for the Ravens, but Collins will have a tough time with the Raven's defense. I'm a Patriots fan, so I have no dog in this fight. Kind of relaxing, watching the playoffs when your team isn't in it

My guess is completely live. My other prediction is that will be the ONLY part of the superbowl I will watch (if I watch any of it).

Didn't Tom Petty play completely live when he played?

I predict that, regardless of whether they play live or not, Bruce's vocals will be out of tune.

I couldn't decide if the Raven's played a great game or if Pennington gave that game away.

Being in Nashville, I'd love to see the Titans in the Superbowl. We got no love this season, after they lost to the Jets and all the sudden the media was saying the Brets were the best team in the division? Look how that turned out for them.

not according to the sharp eyed (and eared) Gearslutz in this thread.

The excuse I have been hearing lately is that the commercials are so expensive that backing tracks are a must to make sure the music doesn't run over

I don't buy it myself. Not only would a mere click serve the same purpose, there is also plenty of slack at halftime that could easily come off: all the yakking and chattering where the sports guys tell you what just happened in the first half that you just watched.

Besides there is no way to control the actual length of the game itself. There are so many things that stop the clock or don't stop the clock.... How could an extra chorus of Born To Run really be such a factor?

none of the big shots play live anymore.

When is the last time a band played completely live on TV?

I think that was the beatles.

"Giant" is a generic term for extra large.

"Titan" refers to a specific race of powerful, god-like mythological beings.

That makes Titans a cooler name than Giants. Officially ;-)

Well, you did ask.

last chance to make your bold prediction! Live or not?

the Steelers and the Cardinals are psyched

I would be too, if I was opening for Springsteen.

I predict I won't watch it, since I don't have any TV. However, I will be not watching it fully live. I always don't watch things fully live, and never to a click track. Well, ok, sometime to a click track, so that I can accurately not watch them.

Bruce's live vocal intro compared to how he sounded in the 1st 4 bars sounded RADICALLY different. I'd (sorry to say) have to vote for lipsync. I'll watch a bit more though, before casting my vote....

I'm not sure yet either...

Some distortion going on there on this vox at the beginning....

He did just slam his nuts into a Sony HD camera though...

Sounded like they mixed up a floor monitor feed with the 2 bus.
