Advanced Audio Rentals

Audio Rents

These are excellent companies. I have rented from all 3.

I usually rent from Audio Rents/Hollywood Sound, and Location Sound. Sometimes Design FX or Advanced Audio. Used to rent from Audio Affects before they went out of business... Lots of good stuff out there.

Yes they are. Howvere they have a catch. They no longer rent individual gear. THey have like 3 huge racks/multi-rack-packages that only rent by the week. So if you want the 8 channels of 1073s for a day like I have rented from them for years, you are out of luck.

A couple weeks ago I went to their site which had a big advertisement about this huge rakc of gear for 100/day. I thought it was too good to be true but serached the site and could find no fine print or catch. So I asked to rent the rack for a day. The guy there responded back very insulted that I would expect to rent such gear for only 100/day. If I expect to get paid, so do they, where would I get such a notion.

Hey, I don't ind paying a fair price, but it is false advertising. Hopefully they changed the web page since I pointed out their advertising practices. But mainly I am dissappointed in their new policy. If I need a huge rack of gear for a whole week great (it's a hell of a deal) , but anything else and I have to go to someone else.

I had problems with Rack Attack as well and eventually wandered away from using them... great deals but had similar "common sense" differences with them. I thought is was just me.
To their credit, the equipment was always in great shape, and I think that they only billed a 5-day-week.

Design FX has always been good for me. Also, check out Platinum Audio Rentals as well.

I had a bad time with a Rack Attack Protools rig, so I'd steer clear of that one..
