I've taken several lute lessons with Ronn. ...not since the summer of 2000 Lute Society Workshop though. He really is a virtuoso on the instrument! Besides playing the classic late renaissance repertiore he is known for, it is good to see him branching out and recording his own composed modern pieces for lute. It is quite a radical thing for an established lutenist to do anything other than medieval, renaissance, or baroque material.

Congrats on the nomination!

Ronn's original lute pieces are awesome. At times it is like listening to rock...but on a lute.
