I think that Soundfield mics and B-Format in general are highly underrated! On more than one occasion I was blown away by the stereo image these mics could produce. I would be brave to say that for coincident stereo miking technique nothing else even come close - yeah, matched neummans, DPAs, you name it... Even surround is more than decent, although the B-Format wouldn't be my first choice for surround application. After VST B-Format plugin was released whole soundfield concept is no-brainer and it has unique feature to change polar pattern and stereo field after recording during mix or post via hardware or within your DAW! Agreed! One of my favourite overhead systems - the MKV. Any idea how much this little one is going to go for? Very interested. -Tom |
