Live broadcast while recording on a Mac

I would like to get some information on live broadcasting a recording over internet

What do I need in order to send online/broadcast the music that I am recording on the internet using a Mac running OS X Leopard/Logic Pro/Mio console?

Look into Darwin Streaming Server, an open source version of Apple's Quick Time Streaming Server. If this package is still actively maintained, it could serve you well. I've used it in the past.

There are a number of other inexpensive solutions like NetCast and its open source base, IceCast.

There's also Quicktime Broadcaster. I've never used it but others have and report that it's pretty easy to deal with.

Your larger problem might be dealt with by using a proxy service. The number of users may prevent you from serving directly, so a proxy streaming company can take your individual feed in and stream to as many as needed with your billing on a per person basis. I don't have any names but I know they exist.
