Talking Odetta Live at The Bitter End 2008

As many of you already know, Odetta sadly passed away on the 2nd of December, 2008.
She will be greatly missed by many.

Anna Rodgers, the producer of the new Liam Clancy documentary which I recorded and engineered this past summer uploaded a portion of the film featuring one of Odetta's performances.

This YouTube clip is from the documentary entitled "Liam Clancy and Friends: Live at The Bitter End".

She was in excellent spirits during the capture of this live concert documentary.
It was an honor and a pleasure to work with her on this.

Sorry to say I "discovered" her only some months ago. She has always been a sort of cultural reference for many shows on CBC 1. The video is great, and I clicked through to the HD version. She's doing all of this while seated at a table. Amazing.

Thanks for posting this.

Yes, the video looks fantastic. DP, Richard Kendrick did a fabulous job.

Alan Gilsenan, the director and the folks at "Crossing the Lines" were totally on point with regards to this film.

Odetta was seated on the stage for two of the three pieces she performed.
She was seated at her table for the last piece.
She didn't have the energy to come back up onto the stage, but her performance energy was engaging.
