Question Roadcases for gear

For those of you that bring your recording gear on the road, can you suggest good cases for transporting your gear (converters, mic pre's, in particular) ?

Thanks!

Is your stuff already reacked up? Do you need a fancy case for a case, or just a case for loose gear?

I'd buy an Anvil or similar on ebay and cut foam to fit what you need. Lots of corporate a/v places dump stuff all the time, much cheaper than new!

Ive been buying a lot of Pelican cases, specifically the 1600 with the foam inserts. You can pull out the cubes of foam you dont need and then stuff sits nice and tight. If you look around online you can find them for much cheaper than the average local camera store.

I like the racks with the pull-over cover - but the traditional front and rear take-off doors is the most popular.

Look through catalogs from companies like Anvil, Hollywood cases, Star cases, etc...

(shameless plug start)

I'm selling two 2RU cases and one 10 RU case. They are all in black and anvil style and going for pretty cheap. PM me if you're interested. I'm located in Brooklyn.

(shameless plug end)

I've got a few of the SKB (Idustrial) Military line.
They come in all sizes, from 6 space up to 16.
Practically indestructable!

Depends on what you are doing, where and how you ship you're gear.
Yeas they are expensive but worth every penny if it's protecting my gear!

Sorry bout the dark pic's it's all I had at the moment!

Another shameless plug for my FS gear: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gears...ount-rack.html

I keep most of my gear in a 16U SKB shockmount rack and I'm quite fond of it.

It depends how much you're looking to spend.

If you've got the dough check out rockhardcases.com

They're amazing and as good as it gets.

Rhino cases are also very well made, however i don't like their latches.

Also check out OSP if you're on a tighter budget. They are very well crafted.

Good Luck!

OSP Cases and Other Products

I am an authorized distributor for all things OSP. They make everything from cables and cases to Countryman style headset mics. I have yet to be disappointed with the quality of anything I received, and the price is usually half of any competitor's products.
