Small mic pre for field recording

Need a small mono mic pre to be used with a field recorder (Walkman size). With emphasis on "small". Not too expensive (about 400 bucks is too expensive). It must not be bigger than the rec unit itself (think TCD-D8-style units).

Suggestions?
