Question Good Mic for Male/Female combo

Hi GS,

I have a Baroque classical piece that I'm currently working on ITB. I haven't decided if I want to go through the hassle yet with real string players, but I definitely want to pair a tenor (male) and soprano (female) vocal duo over what I have arranged ITB.

So, I'm wondering what a good mic would be for this kind of dynamic. I'd like to get them in two separate channels for mixing, but not ultimately necessary.

In my cabinet I currently have the following:

Soundelux e47c
Gefell m300 (stereo pair)
RCA 47b Junior
RCA bk-5 (2, A and B)
Sony c37p
sm57
Elecrotvoice 635a (2)

Granted these are good mics, but I am a bit interested/concerned about the frequency range and if I selected a mic, what would be my reasons for doing so other than the fact that it's expensive, vintage or coveted.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Bag the SM57: they sound tinny and work well only in close. I tried some I got in a drumkit (DMK52) and learned my lesson. Up close for pop vocals they work.
