Hello everybody. I'm doin my first location concert recording for uni tomorrow. have one quick question that i'm unsure on.... gonna be using an ms pair, with akg 300's question is, for the s mic, (ck94 cap).. what direction is on axis? the point on the mic(like it is for the cardioid)? or the side of the mic (as the picture on the mic would suggest)? thanks guys! this will really put my heart at rest. cause i can't seem to figure this one out. |

The sides of the capsule make the figure-8, so you'll point the mic "forward", just like the M mic. Normally the S mic would be "sideways" (think AKG 414) but not with your cap.
