Talking Just finished recording an eight piece choral performance with the SD 788T. . .

. . . and WOW. . . this machine is a killer!

And talk about a light-weight set-up! I brought in the SD 788T, one Royer SF-24 mic, a pair of headphones, and a mic stand. I didn't even need any extension cords 'cause I used batteries.

But, man, this machine is a killer. I used it to record the audio on a film we shot this past summer, but this is the first time I've used it to record live concert sound.

I am amazed!

Yes, it *is* nice, but I found it fiddly and it gets pretty hot.

Have you sent it back for the hardware upgrade yet?

I must admit I looked closely at the 788T before deciding on the Nagra VI instead. I found the Nagra the better option for me doing classical recording.

But I like the fact that the 788T will be the first portable with AES42, even if it is mode1 only.
