Question Cannot get the Paintpot hooked up digitally to my Mac

Does anybody have experience with hooking up the Paintpot to a Mac (using the fiber optic) or Metric Halo 2882 (AES-EBU) because I cannot get any digital signal out of the AD converter?

Does your unit have the AD card? AFAIK, all of the shipped devices have the physical ports and displays relating to the AD option but unless the daughter card is inside the unit, naturally there's no functionality there.

I've wondered how the AD option sounds. If you get yours up or someone else can chime in, I'd appreciate any thoughts or comparisons on the conversion quality.

P.S.

I noticed that Crispin from Crookwood is on the board now; his handle is CrispinHT. Maybe a PM will help you.

Good luck.

Hi, Gaston.

I wonder if you figured out the A/D with your Paintpot and have any impressions you'd like to share? It's a reasonably priced upgrade, but I've never heard anyone speak of the quality of the A/D conversion with Crookwood, only of the D/A in their mastering consoles (which is spoken of highly).

Thanks.

Gaston,
what was your outcome on this. How have your experiences been with the digital outputs of the paintpot? Do you still use the fiber? How do you handle sync with a distant placement?
