The first one is the end of the previous mp3.
The next one is from the Suite N2 of Bach, but with no reverb added (and also no eq)

Whose Cantate is the first sample? I'm a choral nut and unfamiliar with that piece.

It's the end of the first verse of Cantate BWV 4. Very nice Cantate.

Organ with the MC930

Here are some minutes of my last organ concert recording with the MC930 on a marvellous baroque organ
File:Orgue des Augustins.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just a pair of MC930, 7m hight, 12 m ahead in a FR2LE.

I like the sound... and the music (my daughter is playing )

That does sound absolutely purely real-- like a good microphone should!

Was that ORTF or spaced further?

Beautiful.

I can't help but notice from this nice clip, and from recordings I've made, how the on-axis lift at or around 10K and the wonderful off-axis response can cooperate to capture a balanced room sound when omnis wouldn't work, either because the room would be overwhelming or the acoustic isn't great. This hall sounds nice and the balance is good.

The rear of the hall is being captured by reflections off of the front and sides, and the balanced off-axis response add just enough ambiance.

The proximity effect on this mic, or lack of it, is more like a Schoeps MK22 than anything I've heard from another cardiod.

P.S. Nice work. Nice player too!

Thanks !
The hall is an old big church converted in an art gallery, with a lot of reverberation.
I think a pair of omnis would produce a too much distant and confuse sound (I never had the opportunity to try). So I use cardios nearly 55° and 25cm to have more direct sound.
The good think with the MC930 is that I don't have the feeling of missing basses (ok, there are no 32ft stop).

Hi

If anyone is interested

Location recording + professional Mix+Mastering = Quality Product?

There is a drum-recording-sample of the mc-930's as overhead-mics.
Just scroll down to the single-track-links.

Peace

Thanks for posting - I listened to the MC930 overhead clip, which sounded fine, although the cymbals were a little overpowered, but that's no surprise, given the microphones character.

Afterwords I took a listen to the mix - oh dear - all the room and air was gone. If I were you I would make a complete new mix, without all that dirty compression, that in this case simply sucks the life out of the track!
